Astoria Storm Profilo is an effort to create a timeless machine with a longevity based on cognitive mechanics. More precise gradations and parameters have inevitably led espresso machines towards a more digital interface on displays. But preparing coffee is a physical act of gestural expressiveness and the manual acumen of the person controlling the machine. And with this machine, gestures return to take the center stage of the espresso preparation ritual again. All the electronic controls necessary for profiling a perfect coffee are made analogue so that it is easy to use. And it will still allow barista to control all the parameters required to create different cups of coffee and achieve different flavour results by using the same coffee. So you can forget about cumbersome setup process made up of multiple menus and submenus.Storm's design results from a collaboration with Adriano Design, one of the renowned design studios in Italy. And a set of etched steel panels are exclusively produced by no less than DeCastelli, the renowned producer of unique metal surface finishes. Also, the barista's movement requirements were taken into account while designing the machine. Further, routine cleaning operations are easier thanks to the rounded shape, and washing is helped by the vertical extraction of the basin.
